2024 has been an great year for Baltic Shipping Company A/S. The company has experienced tremendous growth, expanding our workforce, our fleet of vessels, our market area and machinery – and we have also welcomed many new talented colleagues. New Headquarters
Earlier this year, we relocated our headquarters from Hundested to Hillerød (Close to Copenhagen). Although the move was a challenging decision, it has proven to be highly successful. Less than a year after relocating, we are already planning to expand our office space further in 2025. This expansion underscores the immense growth we have achieved over the past year and our strong belief in the future.
Fleet and Machinery Expansion
In 2024, we significantly expanded our fleet by adding 23 new vessels. These new ships have bolstered our commitment to excellence, benefiting both our customers and our position. Additionally, we enhanced our machinery portfolio by incorporating new cranes, frontloaders, and other essential machines. These additions have greatly improved our port operations and overall efficiency. These upgrades will continue to enhance our efficiency and service quality in the foreseeable future.
ESG Initiatives
This year marked significant progress in our ESG efforts. We have hired several dedicated professionals to lead our ESG initiatives, providing the expertise necessary to drive our sustainability agenda forward. Additionally, we are in the advanced stages of preparing for CSRD reporting. This has been a challenging yet highly rewarding task, allowing us to deepen our understanding of sustainable practices and enhance our reporting capabilities. Their efforts are instrumental in helping us achieve our 2025 sustainability goals. At Baltic Shipping Company A/S, we are committed a more responsible future and will continue to make substantial strides in this vital area.
Establishment of the Business Intelligence & Analytics Division
In 2024, we proudly established our new division: Business Intelligence & Analytics (BI&A). This strategic move was driven by placing data and analytics at the heart of our business. By empowering informed business decisions, this division increases value for our customers and partners. This establishment marks a significant step towards modernizing the industry and ensuring that Baltic Shipping Company A/S remains at the forefront of the industry.
Recognition and Awards
We are thrilled to announce that we were nominated for the EY Entrepreneur of the Year in the Region Sjælland. Although we did not win this year, the nomination itself is a testament to our hard work and dedication. We are equally proud to have received a nomination from PwC. Our heartfelt thanks go to both EY and PwC for recognizing our efforts and bestowing us with these prestigious nominations.
Welcoming New Talent
In 2024, we welcomed 15 new colleagues to our team. We are deeply honored by the trust and choice of so many talented individuals in selecting Baltic Shipping Company A/S as their employer.
